From 2002 to 2007, Jules Wortman served as the senior vice president of publicity and artist development for Warner Bros. Records where she oversaw all aspects of the label’s communication efforts for the company and its artists, such as Faith Hill, Big & Rich, Blake Shelton, Cowboy Troy, John Anderson, Ray Scott and more.
From 1994 to 1997, as vice president of publicity and video for MCA Records in Nashville, Wortman oversaw all national media campaigns for George Strait, Vince Gill, Reba McEntire and The Mavericks. She secured national profiles for label president Tony Brown, who was also named one of Entertainment Weekly’s most powerful leaders. Ms. Wortman was also director of publicity for three years at Atlantic Records where she helped introduce many new artists, including multi-platinum selling artists John Michael Montgomery, Tracy Lawrence and Neal McCoy. Prior experience also includes manager of media and artist development at Sony Music and as an account executive for Network Ink Public Relations.
Ms. Wortman is active on behalf of many charities and causes in the Nashville area. Wortman is currently active in Leadership Sumner and is a member of the marketing committee for Forward Sumner, the economic development council of Sumner County, TN. She currently chairs the communications committee of the T.J. Martell Foundation and has served on the board of directors (Ad Agency/ Public Relations) for the Country Music Association (CMA), as well as the board of Nashville Chamber Orchestra. In the past, she has been an active member of Leadership Music, National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS), Music City Tennis Invitational, Junior Achievement, and the Nashville Sports Council. In October 2000, Ms. Wortman was selected to assist the Democratic National Committee as a press secretary for the presidential race and their Tennessee Victory 2000 campaign for Al Gore and statewide elections.
In July 2005, she married Jay Pomeroy and settled in Hendersonville. She is a graduate of East Tennessee State University and loves to travel and participate in an array of sports including tennis, swimming and golf.
A native of Dahlonega, a small gold-mining town nestled in the North Georgia mountains, Palmer grew up around the world moving from base to base as the child of an Army family.
She attended North Georgia College and State University, a top U.S. military school, and majored in classical piano with minors in Voice and French.
Palmer moved to Nashville to work on an MBA from Belmont University and has been taking night classes for three years while working full time. She anticipates graduating in August 2008.
She first worked with Jules Wortman Pomeroy at Warner Bros. Nashville and rejoins her at Wortman Works.
A travel enthusiast, Palmer’s journeys include a trip to Capetown, South Africa, to study social entrepreneurship.
In her spare time she loves to play piano, read, watch films, spend time with friends and care for her dog, Gunther.
Amy Willis brings over ten years publicity experience to Wortman Works. Prior to graduating from Middle Tennessee State University with a degree in Music Business, Willis joined Spring Hill Music Group as their head of publicity. She worked with artists from the Southern Gospel/Inspirational genre including the Gaither Vocal Band, The Martins and Jeff & Sheri Easter, among others. Willis made the move to Sony Nashville in 2001, initially hired as the publicity coordinator, she was eventually promoted to Associate Director. In 2006, she was hired by Hallmark Direction, an artist management company, where she handled publicity for their roster.
At Wortman Works, Willis represents The Lost Trailers, Third Day, Brady Seals, Bridgette Tatum, Sean Patrick McGraw and Nathan Lee Jackson. Her previous clients have included John Michael Montgomery, Trent Willmon, Ray Scott, Jeff Bates, Dean Dillon, Montgomery Gentry, Buddy Jewell, Miranda Lambert, Gretchen Wilson, Musicians On Call and painters Katherine Fowler and Katy Brown, among others.
Having grown up in the heart of Music City, Laura has always been drawn to the world of entertainment. As a recent graduate of the University of Tennessee, Laura received her Bachelors degree in Journalism and Electronic Media with a minor in Cinema Studies. While serving as Recording Secretary and Vice President of Phi Mu sorority, Laura has enjoyed working on many collaborative projects within the university and with outside charitable organizations.
Laura's past experience includes an internship with Sony Music and Warner Brothers Records publicity department. Laura has also served as an assistant to the field director of Access Hollywood and Entertainment Tonight on several CMA and ACM award shows. During her senior year of college Laura wrote news stories and biographies for the country music website, CountryHound.com.
In her spare time Laura likes to paint, travel, shop, and spend time with her friends, family and her cats, Oreo and Snickers.
