Congratulations to Third Day on their 4th Grammy Win

Atlanta-based rock band Third Day took home its fourth career GRAMMY Award at the 52nd Annual GRAMMY Awards held Sunday at Staples Center in Los Angeles.  The band was recognized in the Best Rock or Rap Gospel Album category for its 2009 project, Live Revelations: On Stage, Off Stage, Backstage.  This makes their fourth win. Third Day also received nominations for its song “Born Again” (featuring Lacey Mosley) in both the Best Gospel Song and Best Gospel Performance categories.  Watch Tai’s interview from the Red Carpet here.

“Third Day has incredible fans; we didn’t want to rest until we gave them the best record we knew we could make. On our last studio project, Revelation, Howard Benson challenged us to make the best music of our career. When we took it out on the road, we wanted to do it justice in our live performance. Live Revelation: On Stage, Off Stage, Backstage is an album we’re very proud of and we’re honored that the Academy would recognize it with a GRAMMY,” says Tai Anderson.

NASHVILLE, TN (January 6, 2010) -  MJ2 and SweetSong Nashville Records’ debut single “You Can’t Say Love Enough” is generating donations to the JDRF, a foundation that is close to the hearts of these two sets of twins. They have enlisted an impressive list of stars including Dolly Parton, Wayne Newton, Heidi Newfield, Larry Gatlin, Cowboy Troy and many others to help in this effort. MJ2 has had a long relationship with JDRF through their Diabetic Angels Foundation.  Fans can go to www.jdrf.org and download the song with all the net proceeds benefiting the JDRF.  The song is produced by Dennis Money and is available now.

The four-part family harmonies generated by MJ2, (Mollie and Jackie x 2) a unique group consisting of two sets of twins that are all related. Two sets of sisters that include a mom and an aunt. The twins have made quite a name for themselves since they were very young.  Mollie, the daughter was diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes (Type 1) at the age of four. Mollie and Jackie, the now twenty year olds and their mom and aunt, took that challenge and ran with it to educate others on the condition and have since made numerous trips to Capitol Hill to speak to Congress; the younger set having graced numerous ad campaigns including partnership with Mudd Jeans and DoSomething/Doritos.  With their tenacious drive for a cure and their infectious personalities, the twins have made quite a difference in many peoples’ lives and now that they have had the opportunity to record this song with such superstars, they feel that the message for the cure of diabetes will ring even louder.

Dennis Money, producer and a diabetic himself states, “I had the opportunity to meet these talented and blessed young ladies and immediately knew that they had something special.  I have had a ball working with them in the studio and was overwhelmed with the superstar response we received when we asked them to come and sing a line or two on this uplifting tune “You Can’t Say Love Enough.”  I am grateful for this opportunity and am looking forward to seeing the donations start pouring in.”

MJ2 continues, “We are so humbled and honored to have such a cast and class of world renowned performers offer their voices on this song. We have been so fortunate to be able to help raise awareness around the globe for diabetes and to have such superstars as Dolly Parton and our favorite Vegas standout Wayne Newton, as well as, all the other amazing singers who participated is overwhelming and encouraging at the same time.  Our wish is that this song will generate the much needed funds to help the JDRF cure diabetes.”

ABOUT MJ2:

MJ2, Mollie and Jackie, hail from Las Vegas, Nevada and are signed to Sweet Song Nashville.  The family quartet is a musical combination of not one, but two sets of twins, that are all related.  Two sets of sisters which includes a mom and an aunt.  You really cannot make this up. They blend a new style of positive energy and 4-part family harmonies that country music hasn’t seen in quite some time, maybe ever, with this combination.  One of the younger twins, Mollie, was diagnosed with Type 1 (juvenile diabetes) early in life and the four made it their mission to encourage and educate others while raising funds to cure diabetes.  They have been very active in this role having received numerous honors such as the Mudd Girls Move the World, Most Caring Americans, DoSomething finalist, 9-11 Heroes, Prudential Spirit of Community Award to name a few.  They have also appeared in Teen Vogue and Justine magazines.

Currently, the group is wrapping up their vocals on their debut full length release on SweetSong Nashville Records.  They are all songwriters and vocalists and are produced by veteran Nashville producer Dennis Money.

ABOUT JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)

JDRF (http://www.jdrf.org) is a leader in setting the agenda for diabetes research worldwide, and is the largest charitable fundraisers and advocate of type 1 research.  This mission of JDRF is to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through support of research.

Christmas Memories & Holiday Traditions

ARTISTS SHARE CHRISTMAS MEMORIES & HOLIDAY TRADITIONS

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — December 15, 2009 — Nathan Lee Jackson, Sean Patrick McGraw, Marty Raybon and Bridgette Tatum share their favorite Christmas memories and holiday traditions.

Nathan Lee Jackson
“We have quite a few Christmas plans!  We’ll be having a Christmas / house warming party to celebrate our first Christmas season in our first home.  Also, next week, we’ll be hosting another Christmas party here at our house for the college-age group from our church.  We plan on being in Kentucky [our hometown] catching up and enjoying the time with our family and friends.  I’ll also be singing “O Holy Night” at my hometown church on Christmas Eve, something I’ve done many times in the past.
We spent very few Christmas mornings at our house when I was a kid, always opening presents on Christmas Eve at our place, and then traveling to where the rest of our family lived in London, KY.  We split time between my mom’s side of the family, at Grandma and Grandpa Reynolds’ house, and dad’s side at Grandma and Grandpa Jackson’s house.  Normally, we’d eat big meals at both places, and open presents afterward.  The two holiday food “staples” seemed to be the turkey at both places, and my Aunt Cleta brought her famous applesauce spice cake to the Jackson get-together.  Also, they always made punch at the Jacksons, a recipe I’m about to call my Aunt Cleta and get for our party this weekend!  We have yet another Christmas that we’re going to have to “make the best of” this year, since my last living Grandparent, Grandpa Jackson passed in November.  However, we still plan to all come together at his house.
I have a lot of favorite Christmas memories.  One of the best was when we bought my mom a pair of gloves that she had asked for, and just for the record, if she were still here, I would be dead meat for telling this story…  Mom had a great sense of humor, but was always more reserved and quiet, and never really “ha ha” funny herself.  However, after she’d opened her gloves and we’d turned our attention to other gifts, we heard her excitedly and jokingly say, “Look I’m a reindeer!”  When we turned to look, she had taken the hand-shaped cardboard inserts out of her gloves and was holding them up on both sides of her head like antlers!  We all just laughed and laughed, and we made a point to buy her gloves a time or two after that, to see if we could get a repeat!

Sean Patrick McGraw
“Christmas makes me really miss the old days and my extended family.  The McGraws are a pretty big Irish clan.  We had a lot of great Christmases at my grandparents - a little house filled to capacity with all my cousins.  I’m gonna have to go bust a few of them out of prison one of these years…. After over 300 days on the road this year my Christmas plans for ‘09 consist of going home to Nashville, enjoying my wife’s excellent cooking,  spending some quality time with her doing not a whole heck of a lot…
just kidding about going home…serious about the cousin thing…Merry Christmas to ya!”

Marty Raybon
“Our Family has always been close, my mother loved this time of year and made Christmas warm
and special ever since I can remember, Of course when our boys were small those Christmas mornings were always wonderful and exciting.  A bit of a damper this year our middle son Matthew is in Iraq and although he’s with a band of brothers I know he will miss being home, that brings a bit of sadness. I’m very proud of him and his battle buddies.”

Bridgette Tatum
“Christmas memories always include Elvis, a nativity scene or two, and southern cookin’! My Nana and Papa’s house is ALWAYS filled up each year with fragrances of good southern food, watching her set up her manger scenes and Elvis Presley singing us christmas songs well into the night. Those are my most fondest memories. Those are the things in life you can’t buy and that I treasure. God Bless everyone and their family this Christmas!”

Aaron Watson

“I’m really looking forward to just spending time at home with Kim, Jake, Jack and Jolee Kate in Abilene.  With our tour schedule, will be nice to have a few weeks off before gearing up for a busy 2010 tour schedule that’s starting to take shape.”

Brady Seals & Country Radio Encourage Listeners to Rock Responsibly

BRADY SEALS PARTNERS WITH COUNTRY RADIO

TO ENCOURAGE LISTENERS TO “ROCK RESPONSIBLY”

Seals Offers PSA’s in Conjunction with New Single Release, “Been There, Drunk That”

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – December 14, 2009 – With the release of his new single, “Been There, Drunk That,” StarCity Recording artist Brady Seals has partnered with country radio to encourage listeners to “Rock Responsibly” during the holiday season.  Seals has recorded public service announcements that direct listeners to designate a driver before attending seasonal parties if they plan to drink.

To receive your liner or a copy of “Been There, Drunk That,” please contact your Nine North, Jerry Duncan Promotions or Marco Music Group representative.

“I’ve had a family member pass because someone chose to drive drunk,” says Brady.  “It was a loss that deeply affected our lives.  We can prevent this from happening if we plan ahead  - arrange a designated driver in advance, call a cab for yourself or your friends - rock responsibly.”

Written by Seals and Bill Whyte, “Been There, Drunk That” tells the story of an experienced alcoholic beverage consumer and the lessons he’s learned from drunken binges and porcelain bowl praying.  At the end of the song, the protagonist tells the bartender, “No thanks, Joe, …‘been there, drunk that’.”

Hot off the heels of the upbeat barroom stomper “Ho Down,” Brady’s offering of jaunty, tongue-in-cheek country songs is garnering music fans and critics alike.  Country Weekly writes, “[Play Time is a] musically freewheeling and lyrically lascivious new solo album” and Roughstock.com reports, “Brady’s fourth solo album is all about having a good time and escaping the daily grind of life.”

Brady Seals embarks on his 2010 tour beginning in late January.

ABOUT PLAY TIME:
With the August 18th release of Play Time, Seals took to the studio with playtime in mind and there’s not a slow song to be found.  The eleven song collection features themes of “long-legged, half-wasted” party girls, dance club debauchery, girl fights, illicit smoke breaks, pimped out Cadillacs, pick-up lines and a certain prize-winning marijuana crop – all but one song written/co-written by the ASCAP Triple Play award-winning artist.  He hired musicians including Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers’ drummer Stan Lynch, pop icon Richard Marx and members of Hot Apple Pie.  As producer, he experimented with a variety of sounds including speeding up his vocals to create a bluegrass sound and delivering two songs with a touch of country style rap.

ABOUT BRADY SEALS:
Seals has successfully reinvented himself throughout his career, while always remaining true to his musical roots in rock-tinged country. At 16, Seals left his home in Ohio as a touring musician, and by 21 had scored three #1 hits with Little Texas—all of which he’d co-written, winning him the ASCAP Triple Play award.  He went on to release three solo albums in the late 90’s before forming and fronting the quartet of player’s players known as Hot Apple Pie, with whom he scored a top 20 hit (“Hillbillies”).  Seals signed with StarCity Recording Company to release Play Time.

Porcelain Prayin’ Cited in Brady Seals’ New Single

BRADY SEALS RELEASES NEW SINGLE “BEEN THERE, DRUNK THAT”
IN TIME FOR HOLIDAY PARTIES & NEW YEAR’S CELEBRATIONS

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – November 30, 2009 – StarCity Recording artist Brady Seals is set to release “Been There, Drunk That,” the second single from his Play Time album, in time for holiday parties and 2010 New Year’s Eve celebrations.  The single will be sent digitally to radio on December 7.  Nine North, Jerry Duncan Promotions and Marco Music Group will continue to spearhead radio promotion.

“Been There, Drunk That” tells the story of an experienced alcoholic beverage consumer and the lessons he’s learned from drunken binges and porcelain bowl praying.  It was written by Seals and Bill Whyte and almost didn’t make it in time to be on the record.

“I was done with all of the artwork and mastering of the CD when this one was conceived,” says Brady.  “Bill came in with this title one day and I just about fell out of my chair. I told him that if we didn’t write it we were crazy!   I love the fact that the song ends the way it does.  Notice that the guy in the song tells the bartender “No thanks, Joe, I’ve been down that road.  ‘Been there, drunk that’.”

Seals is also creating a special dance mix version of “Been There, Drunk That” for country clubs.  StarCity has partnered with Marco Club Connection for servicing and contesting opportunities.

Bridgette Tatum Debuts New Video

SONGSTRESS BRIDGETTE TATUM DEBUTS “(I LIKE MY) COWBOYS DIRTY” VIDEO

WITH NATIONAL FINALS RODEO

December 3 Online World Premiere Kicks Off Tatum’s NFR Vegas Performance

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – November 30, 2009 – Country artist and hit songwriter Bridgette Tatum world premieres the video for her debut single “(I Like My) Cowboys Dirty” on the National Finals Rodeo (NFR) website on December 3.  The date kicks off Finals and precedes Tatum’s two-night performance at the event in Las Vegas at the NFR FanZone tent outside the Thomas & Mack Center (December 5 & 6).

A widget featuring the video and a special artist commentary will be made available to all interested websites beginning Dec. 7.  The “director’s cut” version features Bridgette giving a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the video for “(I Like My) Cowboys Dirty.”   Tidbits include the identity of the mystery cowboy, how to create a mud pit, the distinctive guitar she played and recruiting random men to star in the video.  The widget will also give fans an opportunity to register for a special Bridgette Tatum and NFR prize pack.

The video was filmed at NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr’s bar, Whisky River, in Charlotte, North Carolina and was directed by Dale Resteghini of Raging Nation Films.

Bridgette Tatum and co-producer Danny Myrick recorded Tatum’s debut album, Sex, Church & Chicken, at The Studio in The Palms casino in Las Vegas, christening the studio as the first country act to ever record there.  The 11 tracks reflect Tatum’s many personalities, effortlessly transitioning from defiant, amped-up rockers to tender, intimate ballads to straight-shooting social commentaries. Sex, Church & Chicken will be released by Root 49 Records in 2010.

About Bridgette Tatum:
The firecracker brunette was raised on the tent revival brand of soul-shaking gospel, swirling with the Holy Spirit and saturated with raw passion.  Music coursed through her veins, seeping deep into her bones, and manifesting as the powerful sultry wailing and soulful crooning that brand Bridgette’s sound uniquely as her own.  Bridgette moved to Nashville and worked her way up to the honky-tonks on Broadway and a regular Friday night gig at the Star Café in White’s Creek.  It wasn’t until she found a kindred spirit in manager Carolyn Miller, however, that her career began to really take shape.

It was through the encouragement of Carolyn, that Bridgette collaborated musically with the man whom came to be her future producer, Danny Myrick. Their partnership proved as successful in songwriting: they co-wrote “She’s Country,” a #1 hit for Jason Aldean, as well as many of the songs on Bridgette’s forthcoming album, Sex, Church & Chicken.  Bridgette is currently touring the country promoting her debut single, “(I Like My) Cowboys Dirty.”

Wortman Works Media & Marketing Featured In The Nashville BizJournal

Music Exec’s Office Offers Creature Comforts
By: Jeannie Naujeck

After leaving Warner Bros. Nashville in 2007, Jules Wortman Pomeroy had been commuting to a cramped, dark duplex on Music Row where she’d opened Wortman Works, her own boutique public relations and marketing agency.

But one day she drove through the town of Gallatin’s classic Southern square with a courthouse in the center and little antique shops and lawyer’s offices.

Just around a corner on West Broadway was a small two-story brick building with green shutters that would not look out of place in New England.

“I fell in love with the quaint county seat and saw this adorable building with a ‘For Lease’ sign,” she says. “I made an offer and within a month I was in.”

She commissioned a Wortman Works sign and moved a receptionist and three employees in during the busy week before CMA Music Festival. Each person has her own office, and there are bathrooms upstairs and down, as well as a small kitchen.

The rehabbed former attorney’s office has exposed brick, ceiling fans, large windows, period light fixtures and original doors and brass door knobs.

“It’s full of energy, light and character,” Pomeroy says. “I don’t like cold, sterile office space.”

Mementos from her lengthy music business career cover office shelves and walls. They include photos with Big & Rich and Bruce Springsteen, a piece of art given to Pomeroy by Michelle Branch and a T-shirt signed by Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones in the conference room.

There are throw pillows on sofas, and pop culture magazines on the coffee tables. And an eclectic mix of furnishings that includes wingback, club and slipper chairs upholstered in leather and tufted velvet picked up at fashion-forward discount retailers such as Home Goods and Overstock.com.

Pomeroy’s own office has a view of the Art Deco Cordell Hull building and an antique shop. Her desk is a large wooden table with lace under a layer of polyurethane. Pomeroy snagged it at a stationery store’s going out of business sale.

“I like to surround myself with objects that give me comfort,” Pomeroy says. “I feel like I bring the character of my home to my office.”

The office reminds her of how far she has come from her first days of getting a foothold in the Nashville music business to becoming a top executive at major labels, helping to shape the images and careers of some of the most successful performers in country and pop music.

Overall impression: An office where ideas can find expression.
Functional doesn’t have to mean boring: Furnishings are complemented by an artistic edge.
Personality is evident as soon as you enter office: Her choices show she values many different aspects of life and is bold and unafraid to show off objects that have meaning to her and represent her personal experiences and relationships.
Don’t be afraid to mix old and new: Look for eclectic furnishings, accessories and art, and sprinkle personal objects.
Artfully uncluttered placement of items: Clues clients in to her personality and the fact that she integrates her work and personal life.

Although the demand for recycled packaging has been growing for years, it is only recently that manufacturing techniques and innovative design ideas have led to the ability to embed seeds in both fold up cartons and traditional molded parts. Special designs also allow for the production of cartons that can fold without the use of glues. All of these features lead to a truly closed-loop, recycled package that can planted in the ground and produce flowers and plants.

Within 2-3 weeks, flowers should germinate!  Flowers are a mixture of: Cornflower Dwarf, Siberian Wallflower, Farewell to Spring Dwarf, Chinese Houses, Dwarf Lance Leaf Coreopsis, Dwarf Plains Coreopsis, Chinese Forget Me Not, Sweet Williams, African Daisy, California Poppy, Annual Baby’s Breath, Candytuft, Blue Flax, Alyssum, Baby Blue Eyes, California Bluebells & Catchfly.  This formula is specifically designed so that flowers return year after year.

NASCAR Couple Team with Music Row Publisher to Launch Entertainment Group & New Label

NASCAR COUPLE TEAMS WITH MUSIC ROW PUBLISHER TO LAUNCH

ENTERTAINMENT GROUP & NEW LABEL

Hit Maker Bridgette Tatum Named as Flagship Artist

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – September 21, 2009 – NASCAR’s Ryan and Krissie Newman and Music Row publisher Carolyn Miller announce the formation of MPR Entertainment Group.  The company launches Root 49 Records, an independent record label, with plans to release an album by flagship artist Bridgette Tatum in early 2010.  The publishing arm, Root 49 Music, will also fall under MPR Entertainment Group.

Winner of the 50th Anniversary Daytona 500 and 12 additional Sprint Cup races, Ryan Newman and his wife, Krissie, met Miller in 2006 and the three became fast friends.  The Newmans encouraged Miller as she launched Root 49 Music in 2008 and were there to celebrate with her when the publishing company’s first cut “She’s Country,” written by Tatum and Danny Myrick, went #1 for Jason Aldean a year later.  Miller’s belief in Tatum and desire to release a full album presented an opportunity for the trio to work together.  Both Krissie and Ryan will have an active role in the newly formed company residing as CEOs along side Miller.

“We have watched Bridgette grow over the past few years and she has a natural talent, a strong voice and driven nature,” says Krissie Newman.  “Our business experiences, as well as Carolyn’s amazing accomplishments with her company, can only fuel the momentum surrounding Bridgette.  We look forward to a long career in country music.”

Ryan Newman adds.  “Krissie and I are involved in all aspects of my racing career – from marketing and promotion to creative and PR; we can help bring new opportunities to Bridgette’s already skyrocketing career.”

Root 49 Records names Nancy Tunick of Grassroots Promotion and Larry Pareigis of Nine North Records to lead radio promotion; Jules Wortman of Wortman Works Media & Marketing as head of public relations and Michelle Fiddler of Artisanal Management for head of marketing.

“Integrity is first and foremost what I look for in friends, and I can now say that those friends are also my business partners,” says Miller.  “To have the marketing sensibilities that come with running a long-standing NASCAR team; whose love of music and winning equal mine, I knew we would make a strong team.”

Bridgette Tatum is currently visiting radio stations across the country promoting her first single, “I Like My Cowboys Dirty.”  The rockin’ anthem has been winning critical and fan approval.  From Roughstock.com, “With this one song Bridgette Tatum, who co-wrote Jason Aldean’s ‘She’s Country,’ has set herself up as an artist truly worth paying attention to.  Hell, with that husky vibrato-filled voice of hers, she may even become country music’s own Pat Benatar or Joan Jett or Nancy Wilson.  ‘Cowboys Dirty’ should be but the first of quite a few hits for Bridgette.”

Nathan Lee Jackson Debuts Complicated Hearts - Sept. 15

NATHAN LEE JACKSON DEBUTS COMPLICATED HEARTS SEPT. 15

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – September 10, 2009 – Kentucky native Nathan Lee Jackson releases his debut CD, Complicated Hearts, on September 15, 2009 (StarCity Recording Company).  Jackson plays piano throughout the recording and wrote/co-wrote each of the 13 songs including the striking new single, “Desperate Man.”

“I’m a young guy, but this album represents over a decade’s worth of dreaming, working, and soul-searching,” says Jackson.  “It was a surreal moment the other day when I finally held the shrink-wrapped album in my hands.  This is the album I’ve always dreamed of making, and this is the opportunity I’ve dreamed of having!”

Jackson joins boutique label, StarCity Recording Company for the album’s release.  Run by Grammy-nominated producer and engineer Jeff Glixman (Georgia Satellites, Kansas) and musician/songwriter Jim Gentile, the agreement jumped from a developmental deal to a full blown recording contract immediately after Jackson delivered the first three songs.  Glixman, Jackson and Zak Rizvi produced Complicated Hearts.

“Nathan Lee came to my attention through a mutual friend and I was immediately taken with his voice,” says Glixman.  “When I heard the demo of ‘POWERFUL,’ I got on a plane and flew to meet him in Lexington, KY. Nathan writes from the heart.  His music is as wonderful and descriptive as reading a great story where one becomes immersed in the sense of time, place and experience.  Nathan Lee Jackson is real.  This is a beautiful album and I’m thrilled to be part of it.”

The lead single, “Desperate Man,” co-written by Jackson and Bud Tower, describes an armed robbery as both men – the thief and the victim – struggle with the life-changing event.  The message of forgiveness has been connecting with radio listeners across the country – “Desperate Man” has been added to stations in San Francisco, Monmouth, NJ, Modesto, CA, Norfolk, VA and others.  Jackson has been traveling throughout the U.S. with his radio promotion team, Nine North, meeting and performing for fans.

Complicated Hearts is dedicated to Jackson’s mom, Carolyn, who passed away from cancer in 2008.

About Nathan Lee Jackson:

Hailing from Winchester, in the heart of Kentucky bluegrass country, Nathan Lee Jackson came of age during country music’s new wave of the late ‘80s and early ‘90s.  But along with the music of Garth Brooks and Alabama, Jackson was exposed to the sounds of Motown and the contemporary Christian songs he heard in church.  Recognizing his call to music, Jackson moved to Nashville shortly after high school graduation and began songwriting in earnest.  He caught the ear of Jeff Glixman, famed producer of 1970’s progressive rock band Kansas and the two, along with Zak Rizvi, teamed up to produce Jackson’s debut album, Complicated Hearts.

August 30 Declared “Brady Seals Day” in Fairfield, Ohio

AUGUST 30 DECLARED “BRADY SEALS DAY” IN FAIRFIELD, OHIO
Mayor Honors Seals with Key to the City During Hometown Performance

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – August 31, 2009 – Brady Seals returned to his hometown of Fairfield, Ohio, this past weekend for a free concert honoring local military heroes and celebrating the release of his new album, Play Time (Aug. 18, StarCity Recording Company).  Mayor Ronald D’Epifanio surprised Seals by naming August 30 “Brady Seals Day” in the city of Fairfield and presented him with a key to the city.

“Receiving the key to the city of Fairfield is one of the greatest honors in my life,” says Seals. “To know that August 30th from here on out will be Brady Seals day is almost too much. That performance was meant to honor our city’s fallen soldiers and I will always remember them when I look at this award. Though I live in Franklin, Tennessee I will always consider Fairfield home. Go Indians!”

Seals and his label planned a special event for the concert hiring local actors to portray characters from three of Brady’s songs – “Ho Down,” “The Trucker Song,” “Farmer Brown” – as well as the character from the Play Time album cover, Rabbit Boy.  The characters roamed the crowd before the show taking photos with fans and giving away copies of Seals’ current single, “Ho Down,” as well as Play Time balloons.  Photos from the event are being loaded onto BradySeals.com and the top two favorite photos, as voted by the fans, will each receive special Brady Seals prize packages.

About Brady Seals (www.bradyseals.com):
Brady Seals released his fourth solo album, Play Time, on August 18.  The 11 song collection features 10 songs written/co-written by this talented songwriter.   Indie label StarCity Recording Company gave Seals complete creative freedom and the resulting album is an upbeat and fun collection of songs that Country Weekly called “musically freewheeling and lyrically lascivious.”  There’s not a slow song on the album.

He went on to release three solo albums in the late 90’s before forming and fronting the quartet of player’s players known as Hot Apple Pie, with whom he scored a top 20 hit (“Hillbillies”) and opened for such superstars as Keith Urban and Tim McGraw.

Brady Seals Revels in Play Time - New Album in Stores Aug. 18

play-time-cover-for-emailing.jpgNASHVILLE, Tenn. – August 17, 2009 – August 18 marks the release of Brady Seals’ new album, Play Time.  The eleven song collection features all but one song written/co-written by the ASCAP Triple Play award-winning artist.  He produced the project as well.

The one-time frontman for Little Texas and Hot Apple Pie joins boutique label, StarCity Recording Company for the album’s release.  Run by Grammy-nominated producer and engineer Jeff Glixman (Georgia Satellites, Kansas) and musician/songwriter Jim Gentile, StarCity gave Brady complete creative freedom to create the music he wanted.

Seals took to the studio with playtime in mind and there’s not a slow song to be found.  He selected songs with themes of “long-legged, half-wasted” party girls, dance club debauchery, girl fights, illicit smoke breaks, pimped out Cadillacs, pick-up lines and a certain prize-winning marijuana crop.  He hired musicians including Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers’ drummer Stan Lynch, pop icon Richard Marx and members of Hot Apple Pie.  And he experimented with a variety of sounds including speeding up his vocals to create a bluegrass sound and delivering two songs with a touch of country style rap.

Seals will be featured in the August 24 issue of Country Weekly (on newsstands August 17), on “Inside Music Row,” and can be found on several websites including features on Maxim.com and Examiner.comCountry Weekly music critic Chris Neal called Play Time “musically freewheeling and lyrically lascivious.”  And Robert Oermann writes that Seals’ first single, “Ho Down,” is a “well-produced stomper.”

Seals returns to his hometown of Fairfield, Ohio, on August 29 to perform following the 5th Annual Hero’s Ride in memory of LCPL Michael J. Cifuentes, PFC Timothy J. Hines, PFC James H. Miller IV, LCPL Taylor B. Prazynski and LCPL William D. Spencer – all local military personnel killed in action.   The free concert will be treated as a CD release party and will feature characters from his album, Play Time, roaming the crowd giving away Seals’ latest single and Play Time balloons.

Brady Seals is currently touring in support of Play Time and making visits to radio stations with his promotion team, Nine North.  Find out more on Seals’ newly designed website:  bradyseals.com
