WASHINGTON, D.C. – Rare.us, one of America’s fastest-growing media sites, has revealed the recipients of its first-ever Rare Under 40 Awards, taking place on Saturday, April 16 in Washington, D.C. The Rare Under 40 Awards were created to celebrate individuals between the ages of 18 and 39 who inspire others through their convictions. The honorees represent a cross-section of America’s passions and accomplishments, while spanning professions, interests, degrees, geographies and nationalities.

Rare Co-Founder Will Alford, states: "We talk a lot about what it means to Be Rare — both as a media startup and as citizens of our generation. We value self-reliance and a generous spirit, individual liberty and our community's greater good, staying true to our beliefs and respecting others' differences. We're earnest but skeptical, and we can't help but laugh at ourselves sometimes. This is what the Rare brand stands for, and we work hard every day to tell the stories of people who live these values. One day we thought, what if we create an event so these brilliant people can meet and engage with one another? We plan to make Rare Under 40 an annual event, and I can't wait to watch what our honorees do each year from here."
