“Heaven In A Stetson,” as suggested by the name, is an ode to the classic silhouette of the Stetson cowboy hat as much as it is the cowboy wearing it, igniting a collaboration between Wilkins and the brand, with an El Patron Silverbelly Stetson featured on the EP and single cover. The two will be partnering this spring to promote the new single and the pre-save of the upcoming EP. “Heaven In A Stetson” is an instant download upon pre-order of the Grit EP.
With the top 10 single, “Stand” leading the way, Wilkins stays true to her genuine self as she makes music with her unapologetic storytelling and traditional sound. She is keeping the legacy of classic country alive with her upcoming EP and the success of her most recent single, and the title track, “Grit”. With over 23K views on her recent music video for “ and 4 million separate impressions for “Stand”, Wilkins has quickly become a trailblazer with great things to come.
Wilkins is nominated for FEMALE VOCALIST OF THE YEAR and SONG OF THE YEAR for “Stand” at the Arkansas Country Music Awards. She is also an advocate for Veterans and Veteran causes and is passionate about her work with the VA, Warrior Rounds, and Musicians On Call, feeling as though grit is best exemplified by our men and women in uniform. She has performed “Stand” to over 10,000 fans this winter and is performing across the Southeast and Midwest.
Wilkins wrote all the songs on the EP and recorded live with several great legacy musicians in Nashville including Jenee Fleenor, Mike Johnson, Cactus Moser, Justin Weaver, and others. Wilkins reflects on the upcoming EP, “As we were writing the EP, the theme of Grit carried its way through and seeped into each song that was written for it. If it’s a love song: it’s straight up honest, if it’s a heartbreak song: it’s calling it like it is, if it’s reminiscent of what I miss about the good old days: it’s right to the point. I wanted the music to call back to the country music I grew up on, with a cowboy-like leaning and a hand on heart attitude, producer Mitch Furr, the writers and the musicians helped bring this vision to fruition and I hope it strikes your nostalgia and puts you right into the John Wayne Wild West.”
