Songwriter/Producer Bernie Herms Takes Home GRAMMY® Award For "Thy Will"

Bernie Herms won a GRAMMY® award tonight for “Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song” for Hillary Scott and The Scott Family's song "Thy Will," which he co-wrote with Hillary Scott and Emily Weisband. Herms also produced Natalie Grant's album Be One, which was nominated for "Best Contemporary Christian Music Album." Herms has seven career GRAMMY® nominations, and this is his first win.

“God is good,” Herms said. “The best moments, they don’t come from us, they come through us. God is the author of all creativity, and we give him all the glory.”

Originally from Canada, Bernie Herms is a Nashville based producer and songwriter who has worked with artists such as Josh Groban, Barbra Streisand, Selena Gomez, Andrea Bocelli, Kelly Clarkson, David Foster, Brad Paisley, Jackie Evancho, Ruben Studdard, The Tenors, Casting Crowns, Natalie Grant, Danny Gokey, Amy Grant, Steven Curtis Chapman, and many more. His stratospheric production and songwriting career includes highlights such as 30 #1s in the US and many multinational #1 hits, nine GMA Dove Awards, including Producer of the Year (2009 & 2016) and Song of the Year. He is heading into the studio with Josh Groban later this spring.
