Proceeds to Benefit The Journey Home Project, Supporting Veterans
NASHVILLE, TENN. (July 15, 2025) — The powerhouse collaboration between country hitmaker Ira Dean and rock legend Ted Nugent has struck a patriotic chord with fans nationwide. The new video for “WWCDD (What Would Charlie Daniels Do),” on 8 Track Entertainment, has officially topped the iTunes Music Video charts since its debut on July 6, coinciding with the 5th anniversary of Charlie Daniels’ passing. LISTEN HERE.
The tribute video and track is a high-energy celebration of Charlie Daniels’ legacy, quickly surged to the top spot—outpacing new releases from mainstream country, rock, and pop artists. The track is from the current 14-cut Dean release I Got Roads.
In true Charlie Daniels fashion, the project gives back: Proceeds from the video sales are being donated to The Journey Home Project, the nonprofit Daniels co-founded to assist U.S. military veterans in their return to civilian life.
"We didn’t set out to chase chart numbers, we set out to honor a man we loved and respected,” said Ira Dean, who co-wrote the song with Daniels in mind. “The fact that fans are responding so strongly and helping veterans at the same time makes this even more special.”
Ted Nugent added, “Charlie Daniels represented the soul of real America—guts, God, guitars, and giving back to those who served. We’re proud to keep that spirit alive.”
The WWCDD video features Dean and Nugent being themselves in a high-energy, no-holds-bared clip. It blends Dean’s edgy country style with Nugent’s legendary rock swagger. It’s an unapologetic, cross-genre anthem resonating with country, southern rock, and patriotic audiences alike.
Fans can watch “WWCDD” on iTunes, where it continues to hold the #1 spot in music video downloads, as well as anywhere videos are seen from YouTube and many other outlets.
